The signing of handmade rugs The Rug Company, launches a new collection of pieces created by designer Tom Dixon.
The bold graphic shapes and unexpected combinations of colors of the rugs Beam, Tube, Step and Tile are inspired by the TV screen that usually appears regularly in the beginning and end of television broadcasts.
Each design theme is the careful repetition of a basic, circle, triangle, square or diamond, which is transformed by the change in the color palette. The carpets are unified by the use of black as a backdrop to the unusual color palette but states TomDixon.
According to the philosophy of “The Rug Company, this partnership connects the pure quality and craftsmanship with the best contemporary design.
Tom Dixon points – “working, as I normally do, with the computer screen, it is impossible to predict the effect of light and shadow in the product.” Wool is a natural product that softens, making it very difficult to anticipate the outcome to be natural. The best is the joy and surprise when you join the samples for the first time the idea has been transformed into a plane bright and colorful.
